The Ides of May
The sun sets slowly
Falling over the green hills of spring
It brings ever growing darkness
Casting orange shadows along the ground
Senseless to the sorrow in its wake
And time
With its teeth and malice
Is a willing accomplice
A predator on the prowl
The sun slouches on the horizon
Almost dead
